Soft white paws creep delicately away from the warmth and security of a occupied den. Where most would be reluctant to leave a nest so comfortable, she had never been reassured by relaxation. The life, though young as it was, she'd lived was one turbulent with independence. Certainty and security where weaknesses in this stormy existence, and it was a hard habit for her to shake off - trusting people again. As the dawn crept gentle over the sky, Astral would make her way through the underbrush, feeling a mental tug on her leg, as though a red string forbade her to travel too far. She looks down at her paw, confirming it's lack of existence, before resuming her journey up a small hill, a clearing opening it to the dim golden sunlight. It wasn't yet high enough to warm her face, but bright nontheless to force her pale yellow hues to squint as she gazed out over the territory so vast and uncertain. As she watched nothing in particular, she reflects quietly on the realization that she's not tempted to follow it. That ghost of a trail, whisper of a new sight - she wasn't a creature of curiosity, not one who enjoyed travel, but she liked perusing the horizon. If the world was so unpredictable, she could at least control when it surprised her. But...not today, it seemed. Today, she was okay with just watching. For once...no, for a while now, she was okay with waiting.
She may have some bad habits to shake off, but she had learned a thing or two.
Looking over her shoulder, she wondered how long it would take Mapledrop to wake.
